Hi! My name is Vera, and I’m passionate about helping people master Japanese while developing a deep appreciation for its rich culture. With over 18 years of experience living in Japan, a Master’s degree in Japanese Linguistics, and 10 years of experience working in Japanese companies, I bring a unique blend of expertise, practical knowledge, and cultural insight to every lesson. My background allows me to tailor my teaching to the needs of each learner, combining language study with cultural understanding.

A Lifelong Journey with Japanese

Language and Culture

My passion for Japanese began in 2003, when I was chosen from among other students to participate in a Japanese Asahi TV program as an exchange student. My first visit to Aomori left a lasting impression on me, and that experience made me fall in love with Japan. I then went on to study Japanese linguistics at university. In 2007, I won the Japanese Speech Contest for Russia and CIS countries held in Moscow. In 2009, I moved to Tokyo and began working for a Japanese company, later spending 10 years at two major Japanese corporations. This experience gave me firsthand insight into Japanese workplace culture, including teamwork, respect for hierarchy, and the balance between tradition and modernity.

I am also a proud mother of two trilingual children, born and raised in Japan, and I actively support their multilingual education. This has given me a deeper appreciation of how language, identity, and culture are closely connected. Teaching Japanese is a true joy for me, and I believe that language learning becomes most meaningful when it is rooted in cultural understanding.
