A Personal Tour Experience
My tours are designed to feel easy, personal, and meaningful, with the route shaped around what you would like to see and do. I’ve lived in Yokohama since 2011, know the city deeply, and also speak and teach Japanese, so I can share helpful insights from both a local and language perspective.
While I also know parts of Tokyo, my heart is really in Yokohama and Kamakura. Whether you’re interested in well-known landmarks, local history, food, or simply a pleasant day exploring at your own pace, I’ll do my best to make the experience enjoyable and memorable.

Two Special Places
Yokohama is a city with a story that feels alive in every corner. Chosen as Japan’s international port for practical and political reasons, it grew from a quiet fishing village into a place where people, goods, and ideas from around the world first met Japan. Even after earthquakes and war changed the city many times, Yokohama kept rebuilding itself with the same spirit of openness and resilience. You can still feel that history today in its streets, parks, and harbor views.
Kamakura is a place I always find special. This coastal city in Kanagawa, just south of Yokohama, was once one of Japan’s most important political centers, when Minamoto no Yoritomo established the first samurai government there in the late 12th century. Today, I think what makes Kamakura so appealing is the way its long history still lives on in its temples, shrines, quiet streets, and relaxed seaside atmosphere.
Places you may enjoy in Yokohama
Nippon Maru
Moored in Yokohama’s harbor, Nippon Maru is a graceful reminder of the city’s seafaring past. Built in 1930, this beautiful sailing ship once trained thousands of sailors, and today visitors can stop by and admire it anytime as part of Yokohama Port Museum.
Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse
Akarenga Soko, or the Red Brick Warehouses, is one of Yokohama’s most charming waterfront spots. Built in the early 1900s as customs warehouses, these historic buildings have since been beautifully transformed into a lively place for shopping, dining, events, and seasonal festivals.
Osanbashi
The Osanbashi Yokohama International Passenger Terminal, commonly known as Osanbashi, is one of the world's leading passenger terminals with a port of call for cruise ships from all over the world.

Hasedera
Hasedera is one of Kamakura’s most enchanting temples, known for its beautiful hillside setting and the serene atmosphere that surrounds it. Home to a magnificent eleven-headed Kannon statue, it feels both peaceful and powerful, as if it has been quietly watching over the city for centuries.
Alongside my tour work, I also enjoy sketching. Here are some of my ink drawings of houses in Kamakura and Yokohama. If you love drawing, I’d be happy to organize a sketching tour in Yokohama or Kamakura as well.
